Jantes. Decidi optar pelas velhinhas Ford, que já foram utilizadas por
muitos construtores Locost Seven. Porém, o eixo traseiro, mesmo alargado
pelos espaçadores ainda dá para ter os pneus muito juntos aos braços de
suspensão. Como não arranjei jantes com pouco offset, descravei os centros e
mandei "pingar" ao torno, depois acabei a soldadura na oficina. Wheels. I opted by Ford old ones, many times reutilized by other Locost constructors. But even with spacers in rear axle, tyres stay dangerously near trailing arms. I couldn't pick up wheels with little offset, so I unwelded their centers, went to the lathe man to tack weld very acurated and then I finished the weld job in my workshop. |

Aqui estão elas já metalizadas a frio. A superfície ficou bem rugosa, mas
adeus ferrugem e tinta velha. Note-se que o aro interior foi protegido de
modo à rugosidade não interferir com o contacto com o pneu. Here they are after had been steel blasted and zincified by laser. Their surface stood very rugous, but goodbye rust and old paints. Note that I protected the rims where tyres will be in contact.

Depois de aparelhadas e pintadas com tinta de poliuretano de dois
componentes. Os "gomos" pretos típicos da Ford foram pintados à mão.

Mudando de sector: chegámos à fase em que tive de tentar reutilizar o travão
de mão do Toyota. Depois de muito trabalho para tudo ficar funcional,
resultou. Atenção que as soldaduras ainda não estão finalizadas. Changing sector: we arrived to handbrake stage. I have to reutilize (one more time) Toyota's rear brake. After lots of work, it works. Note that it is only tack weld.

Estudando o futuro tablier incluindo os manómetros do carro dador. Estou a
pensar em fazer um contraplacado em madeira tropical. Mockup of dashboard included donor's instruments. I'm thinking about a panel of plywood made by myself with good tropical wood, but never forget that 19mm radius.

Agora o nariz. Depois de ter copiado um outro verifiquei que o radiador é
mais largo do que o dito. Mas como insisto em utilizar o radiador Toyota vou
alterar o nariz. Now the nosecone. After have copied from another one, I found the radiator more large than it. But as I insist in reutilize Toyota's radiator.

aqui pensando na melhor forma de resolver os problemas. Por vezes é melhor
parar um bocadinho, relaxar e retomar de novo. Here I am with my thoughts. Some times is better we stop a little bit, relaxe and then "here we go again." |

Buracos tapados com fibra de vidro sobre cartão. Holes were filed with glassfiber over cardboard.
